1. Reduce Weight: If you have a lot of fat in your body, you have to get rid of it. You need to eliminate all the extra weight to build a body that can jump high. After you reduce weight you will need to follow the next steps, if you aren’t dunking already.
2. Improve Strength: Strength plays a key role while your body is leaping through the air. If your legs and calves are not strong enough, they will not be able to propel your body upwards. Build your muscles and get a workout plan. There are other muscles involved in jumping high, make sure you do not simply focus on legs while working at the gym.
3. Be in Position: Once you are ready to jump higher faster, stand in a position to leap high. Flex your hips at 30 degrees, bend your knees at 60 degrees and flex your ankles at 25 degrees to make sure your body produces maximum power without causing any damage to your knees. Your knees should not be pointing inwards in a knock-knee position.
4. Take off: Begin to push your body up with the help of the legs and then spring off the balls of your feet. Your hands should be swinging high in the air during the movement to gain extra momentum. Keep in mind that when you go up, ideally you should be breathing out.
5. Landing: Land carefully on the balls of your feet while rolling on the heels. Bending your knees on landing will lessen the shock.
